Manufacturer coupons/Walgreen's 7-day coupons

Walgreens does accept internet coupons.  Thier website even has a link for printable coupons on it, but some manager's in some stores, will tell you no.  Call your Walgreen's and ask before going.  If the answer is no, let Corporate know that your local store is misinformed.  They should take care of it.

The 7-day coupons are the ones found on their weekly flyers.  You can pick these up at the store and quite often get them in Sunday inserts or mailed to you.

You can use 1 manufacturer coupons with one 7-day coupon on ONE item.

If a coupon is for more than the amount of the item (example:  you have a $3 coupon and the item is on sale for $2.9), they are suppose to adjust the coupon value down to the $2.99 price.  Some stores will try to tell you they cannot accept the coupon.  If this happens, contact corporate.  They don't give overage (money over the amount of the product).

You cannot use 2 coupons on a B1G1F (buy 1 get 1 free) deal. UNLESS, each individual item rings up as 1/2 price.  This is generally not the rule though.  You can use one 7-day coupon and one manufacturer coupon on one item.

Coupon order

In Walgreens, the order you give your coupons is everything.  The way the computers on the registers are set up, if you give coupons in the wrong order, they might beep for incorrect amounts and you will lose out on potential savings.  The correct order is:

RR first -  Register Rewards
Manufacturer Coupons
IVC/in-Ad coupons

7-Day Coupons

7-Day coupons are the ones found in the ad pages of the Walgreens supplement.  You may pair one 7-day coupon with one Manufacturer coupon.

If the ad states 10/$10, you don't need to purchase all 10 items.  You can purchase just one item at $1.

Limits set on the 7-Day coupons can be enforced, but they rarely are.  It's pretty much an individual store policy.

Register Rewards (RR's)

Register Rewards are those register items that print out of the little machine and are given to you with your receipt.

These print out when you have completed a special sale requirement.  For example, buy $15 of a certain product, earn $5 RR's, or buy 3 Stayfree and earn $2 in RR's.

You can then use these on your next transaction.  It can be a transaction that happens that same day.  The only thing it can't be on, is the same product.  For example, a P&G (Proctor & Gamble) RR can't be used to buy more P&G items.

When using RR's, please remember that they are treated like a manufacturer coupon and need to "attach" to an item.  For example, if you are buying 3 items and you have manufacturer coupons for each of those 3 items, and then you want to use a RR to bring the total down as close to zero as possible, you need to add an inexpensive "filler" item for the RR to attach to.  Several filler items people use are just .10 or so items like candy they find on the shelves or near the register.

Does Walgreen's accept competiter's coupons, pharmacy deals and/or price match?

The answer is no.  At this time, they don't honor competitor's items.

Rainchecks

Walgreens does issue rainchecks for items they are out of on the shelves, or in the back, unless the ad states "while in stock".  Just ask for them at the register.  Unless it has an expiration date on it, they don't expire.  Register rewards are not taken in to account for these, so if your store is out and you really want those RR's, your best bet is to check with another store.  Rainchecks can be used at any Walgreens store, not just the store that issued them.

Store Cards (loyalty cards)

Walgreens does not have one of these at this time.

Note:

The best deals to be had at Walgreens are for when you can purchase something on sale, use manufacturer coupons and/or 7-Day coupons and your RR's from a previous trip to drop the total to as close to zero as you can.
For this reason, several shoppers will buy things they don't really need, if they are getting them for free after coupons so they can get more RR's to rollover if the RR's they have now are about to expire.  These items are perfect for giving to charities an/or selling at garage sales.
