2 cups flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 tbsp. sugar
1 1/4 cups milk
2 eggs
2 tbsp. melted Crisco

1.  Sift flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together.
2.  Add milk.
3.  Separate eggs.  Beat yolks and add to mixture, mixing thoroughly.  Beat egg whites stiff and fold into mixture.
4.  Add Crisco.
5.  Heat your waffle iron and grease well. 
6.  Put a little of the batter into the center (be sure to not add too much batter as it will squeeze out during cooking).  Close the iron.
7.  Brown on 1 side, turn, brown on the other side - unless your make of iron browns both sides at the same time.

Serve with honey, marmalade, fresh fruit or syrup.
